Meet the 12-year-old Presec student who had aggregate 7 in BECE and wants to be a surgeon

A 12-year-old student named Nana Frimpong from the Bono East Region of Ghana has gained attention for his impressive academic achievement.

Frimpong attended Nkoranza D/A and graduated in 2022 with an aggregate score of 7 on the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).

His high score earned him admission to study science at the prestigious Presbyterian Boys’ Senior High School (Presec) in Legon at the remarkably young age of 12.

Frimpong has set the ambitious goal to become a surgeon one day despite his youth.

A video of Frimpong has been trending online after his new school Presec recently won the National Science and Maths Quiz for a record 8th time.

Presec edged out rivals Opoku Ware SHS and Achimota School in the 2023 finals with 40 points.

Frimpong’s admission to Presec and its latest NSMQ victory have drawn attention to the 12-year-old’s high academic achievement and potential at such a young age.
